Young Parents Support Service

Are you …

  • a young parent (or mum to be) who wants to get out and meet other young mothers?
  • 25 years or younger?
  • Wanting someone to talk to
  • Wanting some individual help?
  • Wanting to learn new skills?
  • Seeking an improved quality of life for yourself and your children?

Waipuna Trust's Young Parents' Support Service can provide a variety of courses to meet your individual needs, as well as one-on-one support for you and your family.

Individual support

Support, information and referrals are provided by caseworkers for individual parents on:

  • parenting
  • relationships
  • tenancy problems
  • budgeting
  • drug and alcohol
  • health and pregnancy issues
  • job search
  • problem solving and goal planning
  • benefit entitlement
  • family group conferences
  • advocacy
  • transport to appointments
  • monthly newsletters

Referral and Assessment

Initial enquiry may be made by yourself or by a support agency e.g. doctor, social worker to the Intake worker on +64 (3) 386 2139 or by contacting us online for further information and a referral form

A referral form is completed providing WaipunaTrust staff with relevant information.

When the referral form is received by the Intake worker, an appointment is made with you for an assessment visit by a caseworker.
